Our Story

Welcome to Margarittas, a culinary gem that has been enchanting the taste buds of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, since 2003. Founded by the dynamic brotherly duo, Gaston Garcia and Jesus Garcia, our restaurant stands as a testament to their unwavering dedication and pursuit of the American Dream. Margarittas serves as an inviting gateway to the rich tapestry of Latin culture and the cherished values of family and togetherness. At our restaurant, we take immense pride in our owner and chef, Gaston Garcia, whose culinary journey is rich with knowledge. Growing up in Mexico, Gaston had the privilege of witnessing the art of creating food from scratch, emphasizing the utmost importance of freshness and quality. In his culture, cooking was a cherished skill for the men of the household, and this passion was ignited within Gaston at a young age. Guided by his multi-talented uncle, Chef Rodolfo Rivera, well-versed in Mexican and Spanish cuisine, as well as the art of pastries, Gaston honed his techniques, which he later applied during joyous family gatherings, assisting his mother in preparing mouthwatering meals. As Gaston entered adulthood, he had a transformative experience working at La Trattoria, under the guidance of Michelle Primucci, where he delved into the world of Italian cuisine, sparking the motivation to always "think big."

With dreams of exploring broader opportunities, Gaston set out for California, where he had the honor of working at two prestigious Italian restaurants—Prego Ristorante, under the mentorship of Luigi Giordani, and Il Fornaio, alongside Claudio Urciolli and Marcelo Apollonio. His journey continued with a fortuitous encounter with Enrique Perez, an esteemed and accomplished Mexican chef in California. Together, they played pivotal roles in the successful opening of Enriques, a renowned Mexican restaurant in Long Beach, CA. It was during this phase that Gaston's culinary expertise was refined and polished, thanks to the invaluable guidance and lifelong friendship of Enrique.

Each step of the way, Gaston's culinary mentors not only nurtured his passion for the kitchen but also imparted their profound knowledge of the craft, shaping him into the remarkable chef he is today. At our restaurant, we celebrate the culmination of these experiences, as Gaston brings a unique blend of traditional Mexican, Spanish, and Italian influences to delight the palates of our cherished guests.
